The action takes place in the Costigan's South Philly row home. Marcy returns home to her brother, Angelo, after a week long stay in the hospital. Angelo has been staying with Marcy and her husband, Jack for the past three months because the domestic violence in his home has weighed too heavily on him. Jack has been at his mothers, and though Marcy wants everything to return to normal, there is an unspoken force which now governs her relationship with her husband. Their marriage crumbles, though neither of them can face it, and the bonds that holdd them are revealed to be nothing more than facades.
